Configuration of extraordinary rarity, with virtually no comparable examples documented within the vintage collector market
Historical Context
During the 1930s and 1940s, Vacheron Constantin produced some of the most elegant rectangular watches of the Art Déco period. The reference 4491-28 stands among the rarest and most fascinating examples of this production. Its unusually large dimensions for the era make it a natural “Jumbo” counterpart to the better-known Tank Brick ref. 4108, offering a far stronger wrist presence while retaining the refined proportions typical of Vacheron Constantin. The magnificent original dial with mirror numerals, combined with the beautifully preserved pink gold case, elevates this watch into a category of its own. Accompanied by its official Extract from the Archives, this remarkable timepiece represents one of the most exclusive and historically significant vintage Vacheron Constantin watches to emerge on the collector market.
